Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking 

Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of the most renowned and highly-rated treks in the world. It is located in the north-central part of Nepal’s Gorkha District. The word “Manaslu” is derived from the Sanskrit word Manasa, meaning “soul” or “spirit; thus, it is named “Mountain of the Spirit.” It is about 126 kilometers (78 miles) northwest of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. It lies pretty close to the border separating Nepal from Tibet, China, sharing a good deal of cultural and geographical features with the Tibetan plateau.

The trek focuses on Mount Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain in the world, reaching a height of 8,163 meters (26,781 feet). You will see breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks such as Himalchuli, Ganesh Himal, and Annapurna ranges throughout the trek.

  1. Himalchuli (7,893 metres)

Himalchuli mountain is very close to Mount Manaslu, Himalchuli is the second-highest peak in the area and is known for its huge, glacier-carved ridges.

  1. Ngadi Chuli (Peak 29) (7,871 m)

Ngadi Chuli is also called Peak 29. It is a very beautiful mountain with steep, rough sides which can be seen from many places along the trail.

  1. Ganesh Himal Mountains

The Ganesh Himal Mountains flank the Manaslu region to the east. Many of its peaks, including Ganesh I 7,422 m and Ganesh II 7,118 m, are visible during the early parts of the trek.

  1. Shringi Himal (7,161 meters)

Shringi Himal is small in size compare to other mountains but the beauty of this mountain stands out in the lower Manaslu range, especially from villages like Ghap and Namrung.

Near the end of the hike, the Annapurna range can be seen, and one of the highest peaks visible from the trail is Annapurna II.

You can see this peak from higher places, especially around the Larkya La Pass, which makes the views more dramatic.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day in Kathmandu

Welcome to The capital city of Nepal Kathmandu. our representative will be waiting for you just outside of your arrival terminal. They will transfer you to your respective hotel then Rest and prepare for your Manaslu trek. Explore the vibrant streets and immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of the city. Meet your trekking crew in the evening then trip briefing. Stay at the hotel in Kathmandu (1250M)

Day 2: Kathmandu to Machi Khola

Drive from Kathmandu to Machi Khola, the starting point of the trek. The drive takes around 8-9 hours, passing through the scenic countryside of Nepal, villages, rivers & snowcapped mountains. Overnight stay in Machi Khola(900m)

Day 3: Machha Khola to Jagat

Continue trekking along the Budi Gandaki River and pass through charming villages like Khorla Besi, Tatopani, and Dobhan. Cross a suspension bridge and ascend to Jagat, stay at Jagat(1340m)

Day 4: Jagat to Lokpa (2240m)

Trek through terraced fields and forests, and cross the suspension bridge over Budi Gandaki River. Pass through Philim, a picturesque village, and continue to Lokpa passing Ekli Bhatti, a remote village in the Tsum Valley region. Stay at Lokpa(2240m) 

Day 5: Lokpa to Chumling

Enter the Tsum Valley, a hidden gem of Nepal, known for its unique culture and Buddhist cultural heritage. Trek to Chumling, a traditional village with stone houses and monasteries. Stay at Chumling(2386m)

Day 6: Chumling to Chhokangparo

Trek through beautiful pine forests and cross the Siyar Khola. Pass through villages like Lamagaon and Rainjam, and reach Chhokangparo, a village with stunning mountain views(Ganesh). Stay at Chhokangparo(3010m)

Day 7: Chhokangparo to Nile

Trek to the village of Nile, also known as Chhule-Nile, which is one of the oldest & Last villages in the Tsum Valley. Explore the ancient Buddhist monasteries, cultural landmarks & natural beauty. Stay at Nile(3360m)

Day 8: Nile to Mu Gompa

Trek to Mu Gompa, the largest monastery in the Tsum Valley. Visit the monastery and immerse yourself in the serene Buddhist ambiance. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Stay at Mu Gompa(3700m)

Day 9: Mu Gompa to Rachen Gompa

Trek back along the same trail, passing through villages and monasteries, to reach Rachen Gompa. Visit the Rachen Gompa, a centuries-old nunnery, and explore the surrounding area & Tibetan village. Stay at Rachen Gompa(3240m)

Day 10: Rachen Gompa to Chumling

Descend back down to Chumling, a village in the lower Tsum Valley region. Enjoy the serene landscapes and cultural encounters along the way. Stay at Chumling(2386m)

Day 11: Chumling to Deng

Today we are coming down to the same route we have taken on our way up, coming down to Lokpa and than heading towards the Manaslu section of the trek which separates after crossing the Budi Gandaki river again. Stay at Deng(1840)

Day 12: Deng to Namrung

Trek through lush sub-alpine forests with oak, juniper & rhododendron trees, cross a bridge and pass through beautiful villages like Bihi and Ghap. Ascend to Namrung, a village with traditional Tibetan-style houses and prayer flags. Stay at Namrung(2630m). 

Day 13: Namrung to Samagaun

Trek through rhododendron forests and pass through villages like Lihi and Sho. Enjoy panoramic views of Manaslu & surroundings and reach Samagaun, a picturesque village with stone houses and Buddhist monasteries.Stay at Samagaun(3530m). 

Day 14: Acclimatization day in Samagaun

Spend a day in Samagaun for acclimatization. You can explore the village, Birendra Lake, visit the ancient Pungyen Gompa, or hike to nearby viewpoints for stunning mountain vistas. 

Day 15: Samagaun to Samdo

Trek along the Budhi Gandaki River and ascend to Samdo, a remote village near the Tibetan border. Samdo is known for its pristine landscapes and cultural richness. Stay at Samdo(3860m). 

Day 16: Acclimatization day in Samdo

Today you can take a side trip to the borderlands of Tibet, hike to nearby viewpoints, or interact with the locals to learn about their lifestyle and culture. Stay in Himalayan Shangri-la.

Day 17: Samdo to Dharamsala/Larkya Phedi

Trek along rocky terrains and ascend to Dharamsala, also known as Larkya Phedi. This is the base camp for crossing the challenging Larke-La Pass. Stay at Dharmashala(4460m)

Day 18: Dharamsala to Bimthang via Larkya La Pass (5160m)

Cross the high mountain pass of Larke-La (5160m), which offers breathtaking & panoramic views of the mighty Himalayas & surrounding peaks. Descend to Bimthang, a beautiful valley long walk with stunning landscapes. Stay at Bhimtang(3720m). 

Day 19: Bimthang to Tilje

Trek through the most beautiful part of Manaslu trek with rhododendrons, oak, junipers & so many subalpine vegetation forests, and terraced fields, stay at beautiful Tilje village(2300m)

Day 20: Tilje to Dharapani than Kathmandu

Today we start early after breakfast to hike down to Dharapani village to catch the jeep to Besisahar then a long Drive Back to Kathmandu after your big adventure in the Nepali Himalayas. Stay in Kathmandu. 

Day 21: Full Day Kathmandu sightseeing (UNESCO)

Today after breakfast we will take you to show the Kathmandu Valley which is known as the highest density of UNESCO World Heritage sites also known as “City of temples” or “City of Gods”

Visiting Swyamnhunath Maha chaitya, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple & Bouddhanath stupa.

Day 22: Departure day

After breakfast we will drop you off at the airport for final departure for your home or your next destination we bid our see you again until next time
