Trek Highlights of Panchase Eco-Village Trek
1. Amazing Mountain Views
One of the main attractions of the Panchase trek is the spectacular views. At the summit of Panchase Peak, trekkers are treated to a magnificent vista of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, which includes Machhapuchhre (or the Fishtail Peak, one of the most recognizable mountains in Nepal). On clear days, you may even spot Manaslu in the distance.
2. Diverse Flora and Fauna
The trail traverses rich and dense rhododendron forests. Nepal’s national flower, which is quite varying in color during spring. In addition to rhododendrons, you will encounter oak forests, pine forests, bamboo, and so much more varied flora, and you will encounter a number of different species of birds, which makes this trek a paradise for nature enthusiasts and individuals who like to take photographs!
3. Cultural Experience in Eco Villages
What is unique about this trek, is the Eco Village initiative where travelers stay in sustainable guest houses built and run by members of the local communities. These villages, are primarily composed of the Gurung and Brahmin ethnic groups, and provide an opportunistic window into traditional Nepali life, as you meet with villagers that share:
- Local Cuisine
- Traditional dance and music
- Warm hospitality and storytelling
4. Early Morning at Panchase Eco-Village Trek
The high point of the trek is when you reach the Panchase Peak (2,509m). Most trekkers will get up really early in the morning for the sunrise above the Himalayas—a mystical and unforgettable experience. From the viewpoint, there are also wonderful views of Fewa Lake and Pokhara Valley below.
