Nagarkot Sunrise and Hike to Changu Introduction

This Nagarkot Sunrise and Hike to Changu day starts from your hotel in Kathmandu early morning before sunrise. Then you will be driven to the Nagarkot Village for a mesmerizing sunrise over the Himalayas.  You will be taken to the beautiful viewpoint (2175M) for the sunrise over the Lantgang & many other different mountain ranges. The sunrise & surrounding views are also very beautiful.

After your sunrise time if you wish to have your Himalayan Breakfast we can visit one of the hotels that serves yummy breakfast. Then we can start our Hike towards Changunarayan. As we start we leave Nagarkot village by passing a small bus station & a very happening village downtown. We descend via dirt road with very little traffic passing numerous different villages. It provides great insight into the lifestyles of Nepali village people.

Exploring villages & life of local people living in the small terraces with very basic things. In most of the Nepali villages, their main economy is livestock like Buffalo, cows, dogs, chickens, goats & many more running here & there on their home & farm. The people of Nagarkot & surrounding villages depend on their farms & livestock.  You will be passing through Santi Dada known as Peace Hill where you observe a beautiful Buddha statue on the hill side then pass through villages again to arrive at Jalpadevi temple after playing hide & seek on the Main road. You will Arrive at Tel Kot village after about 2 hours of hiking.

After hiking halfway we are again leaving the main busy road & start with a dirt road but through nature. Walking through the Jungle and walking through the villages seeing their lifestyles again & takes another 45 minutes to arrive at the village of Changunarayan where you will be visiting the old Temple.

After hiking for about 4 hours you will arrive at Changunarayan Temple. It was the oldest capital & royal Palace of Nepal people believe. You are visiting the historic Temple of Changunarayn. You will easily find the written inscription on the Stone known as the first ever written history of Nepal.

Nagarkot Sunrise Hike to Changunarayan

Early in the morning, our driver & guide will pick you up from your hotel about one & half hours before sunrise time. Then, we will take a drive to Nagarkort’s viewpoint through Bhaktapur & surrounding villages. Then, You would get the opportunity to witness the most amazing sunrise on the Himalayas. You can also see majestic views of different Himalayan ranges like Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang, Ganesh, Gaurishankar & Everest range on the clear day.

After breakfast at the Nagarkot Village, we will start our hikine towards Changunarayan through the villages, jungle & terraces. You also have multiple options to take the ride or exit from the hike. After about  2 hours arrive at Telkot Village and then continue our walk through the forest & dirt road. We will finally arrive at Changunarayan Temple.

Visit the beautiful Changunarayan Temple (UNESCO site). The colorful temple dedicated to the Hindu God Bishnu temple was built here in the medieval era by King Manadeva. Our guide briefly describe you about the temple & history before you return back to our hotel.

We will take you back to Kathmandu & drop you off at your hotel. We will bid our farewell after a wonderful day hike.
