Ghalegaun Trek Introduction
Ghalegaun Trek
Ghalegaun is a village located in the Lamjung District, which is centrally positioned in Nepal, meaning it is undoubtedly in the geographical centre of the Gandaki Province of Nepal. It is located almost 2070 m (6791 ft.) but could be higher, making Ghalegaun has potential unobstructed peek views of even better of all of the Himalayas that should not be missed, such as Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu’s are immense quality. It has a sense to it, because the area hasn’t change, it still has all of its natural highland life and its untamed, genuine Nepali village life. The air cool and crisp, the vistas are quiet, and destination vistas are large and inviting to stop & allow a traveller a bit of tranquillity & beauty as to the scenery & culture.
As being high quality, Ghalegaun is also said to being the base for unformulate trekking routes. Ghalegaun and its surrounding areas, as most such areas & villages could be considered demo-nationalize, they remain largely un-commercialized for the past 20 years from neighbouring areas. Beyond Ghalegaun and the natural world, what permit trekkers doesn’t experience minimal altitude sickness (or maybe it suggests, these trekkers would be classified beginner/intermediate greatly limits undue strain), and they can jointly partake in a cultural trekking experience.
Community and Accessibility
The village of Ghalegaun consists predominantly of Gurung people, an influential ethnic group in Nepal, which is well-repute for bravery (Gurkha soldiers are frequently Gurung) and cultural display. The village is situate approximately 205 km (127 miles) west of Kathmandu and also about 205 km and in the same direction from Pokhara, a famous trekkers tourism destination in Nepal. The trip into the trekking play area generally starts with a scenic, leisurely drive from either Kathmandu or Pokhara to Besisahar (the district headquarters of Lamjung) , our access point to the trekking area.
From Besisahar the trekker can take a local jeep or bus transit to Khudi, the start point for the trek to Ghalegaun. The road access from Khudi involves rough and unsealed service tracks and dirt roads, which will allow trekker’s to encounter local rural cultures in Nepal before they are in the trekking area. The trekking trail descends and meanders through villages, green hills and ancient forests, then makes a gradual ascent which is very important for good acclimatization and enjoyment of the wonderful natural settings made for trekking.
3. Trail and Scenery of Ghalegaun
The Ghalegaun trek is generally regarded for the beautiful scenery, for the experience of a rural mountain culture, or both. Most often, the trek will start from Khudi, and the initial sections of this trek will be the trails themselves, as the trekking trail leads into beautiful thick forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine forests, leaving you with some shady designs, and perhaps some bird watching. Continuing on the trail, you will meander through terraced agricultural fields planted by locals with maize, millet, and potatoes.
You can expect to see some basic villages, streams and rocky terrain on your path. The trek will typically be enjoyable, and if the air is refreshingly clean, then this will deepen your enjoyment of the trek, however, and this is a very big however, the views of the scenery you will experience along this trekis likely to be the most spectacular, unexpected or amazing part of the overall experience. On clear weather days, assuming that you are way above the clouds, visitors can expect absolutely unreasonable views of massive, white, snowy Himalayans peaks such as Annapurna II, Lamjung Himil, Machhapuchre (Fish Tail), and possibly the trailing peak, Mt. Manaslu.
4. Community-Based Tourism
Ghalegaun is important for its community-based tourism (CBT) as for distributing tourists income. All the care given in its very purpose and social and economic considerations is share and compensate. Specifically within the context of the benefitting local village system. There will be local home cooked food that will be organic or in season. Most of the meals will be local chicken with tea, dhido (a local millet porridge) and rice and lentils. The CBT is sustainable practice and a responsible form of tourism that allows people to both enjoy and protect sustainable tourism. It protect culture and provide local villager economic livelihoods with home cooked meals in special context.

Nepalese traditional music, and performers in their traditional costumes, who dance cultural dances (with most dancers in the traditional Gurung costume, and many cases made up as “Ghatu”, “Sorathi”, and “Jhyaure”. The dance, with the accompaniment of madal (drum), and flutes). It is a glittering experience, and certainly not a tourism product as a display in that way.
