Chandragiri Hills & Cable Car Ride
Escape the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu and enjoy a refreshing day in the hills with our Chandragiri Hills Day Tour. Located just 16 km southwest of Kathmandu, Chandragiri Hills is one of Nepal's most popular day-trip destinations, offering spectacular Himalayan panoramas, a thrilling cable car ride, lush forests, and the sacred Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple.
Rising to an elevation of 2,551 meters (8,369 ft), Chandragiri Hill provides one of the finest viewpoints near Kathmandu. On a clear day, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayan range, including Mount Everest, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Gaurishankar, and many other snow-capped peaks stretching across central Nepal.
The highlight of the tour is the scenic Chandragiri Cable Car, one of Nepal's longest cable car systems. During the 10-15-minute ride, you'll glide above dense forests and rolling hills while enjoying panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley below.
At the hilltop, explore the peaceful Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple, an important Hindu pilgrimage site believed to be connected to the legend of Lord Shiva. Visitors can also stroll through beautifully landscaped gardens, enjoy delicious meals at hilltop restaurants, capture incredible photographs, and simply relax in the cool mountain air.
This easy and family-friendly tour is perfect for travelers of all ages who wish to experience Nepal's natural beauty, spiritual heritage, and Himalayan scenery without undertaking a long trek.
