Ghalegaun Trek Introduction

Ghalegaun Trek is located in the Lamjung district of Nepal, which is part of the Gandaki Province. Ghalegaun is a picturesque village situated at an altitude of around 2,070 meters (6,791 feet) above sea level.

The village is inhabited by the Gurung community, known for their warm hospitality and rich cultural traditions. It is approximately 205 kilometers (127 miles) west of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, and about 125 kilometers (78 miles) northwest of Pokhara, another popular tourist destination.

To reach Ghalegaun, you can take a scenic drive from Kathmandu or Pokhara to Besisahar, the district headquarters of Lamjung. From Besisahar, you can continue the journey by jeep or bus to Khudi, which serves as the starting point for the trek to Ghalegaun. The trekking trail takes you through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including Annapurna, Manaslu, and Lamjung Himal.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by our representative from the company who will transfer you to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the vibrant capital city and preparing for the trek, Evening join for trip briefing & meeting with trekking crew. Stay at Kathmandu (1250m)

Day 2: Kathmandu to Besisahar

You will take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, the district headquarters of Lamjung. The journey offers glimpses of rural landscapes, terraced fields, and traditional villages. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Besisahar(760 meters). 

Day 3: Besisahar to Ghalegaun

After breakfast, you will begin the trek from Besisahar and hike through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional settlements. The trail gradually ascends, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Reach Ghalegaun and explore the village. Overnight stay at a home stay or community lodge at Ghalegaun(2,070 meters). 

Day 4: Explore Ghalegaun

Spend the day exploring Ghalegaun and engaging in various activities. You can take a village tour, visit the local monastery, interact with the friendly Gurung community, learn about their traditional customs and lifestyle, and enjoy cultural performances. Overnight stay at homestay or community lodge (2,070 meters) 

Day 5: Ghalegaun to Bhujung

After breakfast, you will trek to Bhujung, another beautiful Gurung village known for its traditional architecture and terraced fields. The trail offers scenic views and opportunities to observe the local way of life. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Bhujung(1,390 meters). 

Day 6: Bhujung to Pasgaun

Today’s trek takes you from Bhujung to Pasgaun, passing through forests and terraced fields. Enjoy the serene environment and observe the cultural practices of the local communities. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Pasgaun(1,740 meters). 

Day 7: Pasgaun to Khudi and drive to Kathmandu

After breakfast driving back to Kathmandu by bus 10 hours approximately enjoy the scenic ride on the mid hill range with field, river & lifestyles. Stay at Kathmandu 

Day 8: Departure day

After breakfast we will drop you off to the airport for final departure for your home or your next destination we bid our see you again until next time.
