Explore Kathmandu 2N, 3D Introduction

Explore Kathmandu 2N, 3D

Kathmandu 3D, 2N Discover can introduce you to this colorful Nepalese city. All that is Kathmandu: religion, history, and cultures iconography combine with dilapidated landmarks, madcap streets, and peaceful temples; you will have the time to marvel at such fanciful landmarks and sense some of the cities special vibe on this 3-day, 2-night excursion.

As soon as you arrive in Kathmandu, you get the vibe of the place; the second you step foot in Nepal and unwind in your very own hotel in Thamel, the tourist hotspot, your vacation has technically begun! This is a chill, beautiful area of cobblestone side streets filled with restaurants, cafes, and shopping stores, you are in Kathmandu’s quite cosmopolitan sanctuary. This is the prime locale for acclimatizing, grabbing street food, and resting up before another adventure.

Swayambhunath Stupa

The second of the two largest places of interest is Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple. It reigns at the top of the highest hill along with an ancient religious complex overlooking Kathmandu Valley. The complex has a blend of Hindu and Buddhist imagery exemplifying the syncretic nature of Nepali society. The golden spire and ascending white dome of the stupa, topped by the Buddha’s setupo view – very moving. Other areas of the temple, the ever-present chatter of those famous monkeys, the busy sound of the prayer wheels, and the mantras hummed as a chant felt all encompassing and quite sacred.

Kathmandu Durbar Square

Day two of the tour included going through Kathmandu Durbar Square, the ancient heart of the city. Kathmandu Durbar square with its open street, shrine and courtyard pavement plaza, and the palace plaza, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the splendor within the wooden Pashupatinath Temple, the caves carved out from rock, the city entrance, and everyone has heard or even seen Kumarigarth, the home of the living goddess Kumari (a unique landmark of the city’s cultural heritage). Additionally, and within all of the royal court houses monuments of Nepalese cultural diversity, museums, and art that dynamically represents the inventive creative artist minds of the beautiful Newars.

Pashupatinath, Kathmandu

As a major temple of Lord Shiva, a Hindu pilgrim-believer would visit this temple on a turn basis from the world. And as there are cremations occurring daily on the banks of the Bagmati River, there is also contemplative thinking of Hindu philosophy about life and death. Religious spectacles such as these, while not more cosmopolitan than those of urban streets, teach us more about the sacred life we share in commonality as human beings, and also time. The natural religious spectacles that visitor=”/present” are also: Boudhanath Stupa, a grand structure of Tibetan Buddhism.

Boudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu

Again, this stupa is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is endowed with a successful Tibetan refugee settlement, and it too has all its swirling prayer wheels, clicking prayer flags, and soft raspy ahhhhs of chanting monks somehow apparently all advocating and propensing for a very unique ambience of pious worship. But it is still not a religious pilgrimage site – it is something quite other – the all directive magical representation of Tibetan religiosity and that of Kathmandrage backs us again, the systematic resStory of community on Wednesday of our last day in Katmandu with Patan Durbar Square at Lalitpur serving to reflect more history of site itself!

Patan

Patan, with its ancient Newari architecture and paintings, is a temple town and contains the Patan Museum. The square statues and statues need to be seen since they are the best of Newari art and craft, and the quality is the best. Additionally, during leisure time, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, another architectural piece, provides more opportunity to see Nepal’s medieval masterpiece of art.

Conclusion of Kathmandu 2N, 3D
